Hey everybody. Can you start your CFY before you officially graduate (if you have all graduation requirements completed)? Also, when does someone officially graduate? When they have the piece of paper? The last day of classes for the semester? When grades are reported? I'm applying for CFYs and trying to figure out when my date of availability would be.

I think you officially graduate when your grades are posted. If you are looking at doing your CFY in a school, you'll probably want to have some form of documentation saying that you have your master's degree to give to HR. I am not sure about a medical setting. Where are you applying?
Looks like I'll be starting a CFY in mid-December at Federal Heights Rehab and Nursing in downtown Salt Lake City.
Our program told us we can start our CF before graduation as long as we have a form from the program that says we have fulfilled all of our requirements. Worcester State does official graduations in late December but we can start our CF the day after our records check if we want.
