Hey, I'm here now!

Hey there everybody. Just thought I'd let you know I'm still here even though you might not have heard from me lately. I'm in week 7 of my externship at the VA Med Center right now. I just got my Praxis results back last week and met with some people to get my paperwork--which was sitting on a certain professor's desk for about a month--moving for graduation in December. I passed the Praxis so our streak is alive. Just curious what our average score was? I don't want to single out anyone, just get a rough idea of how most of us did.

Autismbites.com

I saw a bumper sticker the other day for Autismbites.com so I thought I'd check it out. What an interesting concept - to buy shirts that advertise your kid is autistic. Have you seen anybody wearing these shirts? Do you think this is something I could recommend to some of the families I see? Just kidding.

So, I finally figured out how to accept the invite so I could post on here! I've loved reading everyone's updates...It seems like we're all settling into new jobs, new babies, and new houses...As for me I'm gearing up for my trip to Africa! It's that Youthlinc trip that Dr. Hunter has helped organize. Dr. Chapman will be coming with us and now it turns out Amy Krantz too. So, I'll have quite a few people I'm familiar with. I'm a little nervous but excited. All year long I was so nervous about going with Dr. Chapman but I was worried for nothing. She has been so nice at all of the meetings and we've been working together to get materials. Kathy has actually been talking with Amy and I about going for Ph.D. but I need at least a year to recover from studentitis. Well, I hope everyone is doing good. I'm sad I won't get to see you at the get together! Maybe in August...
If you want to see pictures and posts about my trip I'm going to be putting them on my blog. It's mlwesto.blogspot.com
Take care everyone!

Friends don't let friends...

I have explained glottal fry to my husband a couple of times and I guess he shared this knowledge with one of his coworkers who does it a lot. Check out what he found written on a dry erase board they keep in their office:

I wonder what else I should be teaching him?
